How Dayrate feeds Triangulate

Dayrate is free because it feeds Triangulate, the workforce cost intelligence engine built by Deployed. Triangulate is a pricing backend: it models what work should cost, for people and for services, across markets worldwide, from public statistical sources, statutory filings, job postings and contributed observations. Every band Dayrate shows is priced by that engine.

A placed rate joins Triangulate's observed pool pseudonymously. The observation carries role, seniority level, market and figure. It is stored against the account email for two purposes only: honouring deletion requests and policing abuse. No published figure, band or output ever carries a name, an email, an employer or any other identifier; an observation surfaces only inside aggregated bands built from many contributions. Buyers using Triangulate see the bands, never the individuals behind them.

Estimates store nothing. Only a rate deliberately placed, while signed in, enters the pool.

1. Who is responsible

Deployed operates Dayrate and is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: jamie.gannaway@deployed.co.

2. What we collect, and what happens to it

Estimate inputs: processed, not stored. The role, country, seniority and salary you enter are sent to the Triangulate engine to compute your band and are not kept. No account is needed and no estimate is logged against you.

A pasted LinkedIn profile: read once, then discarded. If you paste your own profile text or export, we parse it for your current title and the span of your dated roles, use those to condition the estimate, and keep nothing. We never fetch your LinkedIn profile ourselves; the only route in is your own hand.

Your account: name, email, photo. Signing in with LinkedIn through Clerk gives us the identity claims LinkedIn releases: name, email address and profile photo. We use them to operate your account, to register you for the free plan of the Triangulate service, and to attribute contributions internally. We do not post to LinkedIn or read anything further from it.

A placed rate: stored, pseudonymised, pooled. A rate you place while signed in is stored as one observation: role, seniority level, market, figure, currency, together with your account email. The email exists so we can deduplicate, police abuse and honour deletion; it is never joined to the observation in anything published or shown to any user or customer. The statement above governs every use of a placed rate.

Technical data. Essential cookies for the Clerk session, and ordinary server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) kept briefly for security and debugging. No advertising trackers.

3. Legal bases

Contract, for operating your account and answering your asks; consent, for placing a rate into the pool, given by the deliberate act of placing it after accepting these documents; legitimate interests, for security, abuse prevention and improving the service in ways that do not override your rights.

4. Who processes data for us

Clerk (authentication; processes your sign-in and session), LinkedIn (identity provider; releases name, email and photo with your consent), Vercel (hosting), and the Triangulate engine operated by Deployed (pricing, the account queue and the contribution store). Some of these providers process data in the United States under appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses or an adequacy framework).

5. Retention

Account data is kept while your account exists. Contributed observations are kept while they usefully calibrate the pool or until you ask for deletion. Logs are kept for a short operational window. Aggregated bands, which contain no identifiers, are kept indefinitely.

6. Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Deleting your account removes your identity and your observations from the pool; bands already computed are irreversible aggregates containing nothing identifying you. Write to jamie.gannaway@deployed.co; you can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) or your local supervisory authority.

7. Children

Dayrate is for working adults; it is not directed at, and must not be used by, anyone under 18.

8. Changes

Material changes are posted here with a new date, and, where the change affects what happens to contributions, flagged on the page before your next placement. These documents pair with the Terms of Use.
